Unit 1: Plant Physiology (34 hours, 17 marks)
Photosynthesis in higher plants (pigments, photochemical and biosynthetic phases, cyclic and non-cyclic photophosphorylation, chemiosmosis, photorespiration, C3, C4 and CAM pathways, limiting factors); respiration in plants; plant growth and development.
Unit 2: Human Physiology (63 hours, 18 marks)
Digestion and absorption (alimentary canal, digestive glands, enzymes and GI hormones, digestion and absorption of nutrients, nutritional disorders); breathing and exchange of gases; body fluids and circulation; excretory products and their elimination; locomotion and movement; neural control and coordination; chemical coordination and integration.
